Romeo and Juliet

Beth Wood - Personal Name; John O'Conner - Personal Name;

The play is set in Verona, Italy, and details the tragic, all-consuming love between Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, the children of two powerful families locked in a violent, long-standing feud. Despite their families' hatred, Romeo and Juliet meet and marry in secret with the help of Friar Laurence. The situation spirals into tragedy when Romeo is provoked into killing Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, to avenge the death of his friend, Mercutio, leading to Romeo's banishment. A desperate plot involving a sleeping potion and a feigned death is hatched to reunite the lovers. Due to fatal miscommunication, Romeo believes Juliet is truly dead and commits suicide. Juliet awakens to find Romeo dead and kills herself to be with him. This ultimate tragedy finally ends the long-standing family feud.
