Vagabond

Bernard Cornwell - Personal Name;

Vagabond is set in 1347, during the fierce conflict of the Hundred Years' War between England and France. The protagonist, Thomas of Hookton, an English archer and former scholar, is desperately continuing his quest to locate the legendary Holy Grail. Thomas believes the Grail's secret is tied to his own family's ancestry, a secret coveted by both armies and, more dangerously, the Church.

His journey forces him to navigate the brutal reality of medieval warfare. Thomas is hunted by relentless agents of the Church's Inquisition, who view him as a dangerous heretic, while simultaneously fighting in sieges and battles across war-torn France. The narrative is a sprawling saga detailing Thomas's fight for survival, his confrontation with ancient religious riddles, and his eventual uncovering of secrets that dictate the fate of the sacred relic and the truth of his own lineage.
