The Lost World

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Personal Name;

"The Lost World" is a classic science fiction adventure adapted for intermediate English language learners, following the ambitious expedition of Professor Challenger to a remote plateau in the Amazon basin. Accompanied by the skeptical Professor Summerlee, the adventurer Lord John Roxton, and the young reporter Edward Malone, Challenger seeks to prove that prehistoric creatures still exist in the modern world. Upon reaching the isolated plateau, the team finds themselves trapped in a land where dinosaurs and ape-men still roam, forcing them to fight for their survival against primeval dangers. This Level Two reader introduces students to early science fiction tropes while developing their ability to follow fast-paced action sequences and descriptive narrative English.
